Everything ABC’s Blog Hop Letter G

everything ABC Blog Hop Badge

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop! For this hop we will be featuring the letter “G”. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “G” element will be featured in their post. If you have just hopped onto my blog, from Wendy Kessler – My Scrapbooking Blog then you’re on the right track!

For my “G” I decided on the color Green

st pats card

Here is a very Green card:  I sent this card out for St. Patrick’s Day wishes to my friends and family.

It was initially pretty tricky to figure out, as when I completed it, I was going by my brain image and not a pattern.  I ended up cutting 2 paper mats, one 1/2″ smaller that the first from double sided paper.  This was paper from my Close to My Heart stash of years gone by.  This paper is probably 8-10 years old.  I then cut angle to angle on both pieces but only part way down the cut line on both ends.  There were 2 cut directions with the “still attached part” staggered between the 2 cuts.  That way when I cut all the way through on one side, I still had corner to corner cuts to line up and cut through.  This gave me the triangles that you see on the card.  Being that this card is not square, it was a challenge at first.  If I would have planned better I could have taken photos of this process and I apologize at not having done that.

The gold “x” is our gold shimmer trim.  I love that!  The background mat was a coordinating paper from this kit that i have long lost the name of.

The shamrock was stamped in Topiary ink, fussy cut out and popped up to give the card dimension.  The stamp set is an oldie but goodie too from Close to My Heart called Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  I stamped the sentiment from that stamp set inside.  It is a funky font that says Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  Go figure-wonder why I would use that stamp?  🙂

Supplies used:

St. Patrick’s Day Card:  Retired B & T paper, White Daisy Cardstock, Happy St. Patrick’s Day stamp set #C1117, Fiskers Sure-Cut Deluxe Paper Trimmer, Topiary Ink, Gold Shimmer Trim, Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors,  3D Foam Tape, and Duck Easy-Stick Adhesive.
